A good friend of mine, Jeff Donaldson, is the worship leader at our church, Bethel Church, Choctaw. (By the way, I would recommend you follow him on Twitter @jeffofbethel). He wrote a song “Sacrifice” that is absolutely amazing. I had no idea he wrote it until I told him I wanted to share it in a blog post and that I would just look up the words on the internet. He informed me that I wouldn’t find them because it was his song. I was floored! He is such a humble man because he has led that song many times and never indicated to me or the congregation that he wrote it. It’s a beautiful song of Christ’s sacrifice of His life so that we could live and share in the Christ life. Since this blog is about Christ being all in all and us sharing in the life of Christ I wanted to share the words and the song with you. As a believer in Christ you and I are to live the Christ life! Our life is hidden and complete in Christ. Our very being is wrapped up and exists because of Christ. Apart from Christ we can’t truly live. He indeed paid the price for us to live now and on into eternity. Here are the words and if you like the song leave a comment and I will share them with Jeff:
Thinking of You, and all You’ve done for me.
The extent of Your love is almost hard to see.
How can I say thanks, will it be enough.
I will not forget the greatest act of love.
I will always remember from now till forever Your sacrifice.
Blood was shed for my freedom, You’re all that I needed, You paid the price. That I might live.
From a glorious King to a hated prisoner.
Disgraced and beat, for the love of a sinner.
Bruises cover Your flesh, blood stains the innocent.
Death takes You down, but that’s not the end of it.
I will always remember from now till forever Your sacrifice.
Blood was shed for my freedom, You’re all that I needed, You paid the price.
I will always remember from now till forever Your sacrifice.
The love You showed me that day, I can never repay, You for Your life. That I might live.
That is a wonderful song..Jeff is such a blessing with his leading of praise.
Jesus is indeed our all in all…
Great song.
It is one of my favorites!
